Green puppy among litter of nine golden retrievers
Green puppy among litter of nine golden retrievers
A Scottish dog mum was left spellbound after her golden retriever gave birth to a green puppy.
When three-year-old Rio gave birth to nine pups on July 7, all but one arrived with normal coloured fur.
Louise Sutherland, from Golspie in the Scottish Highlands, named the green woofer Forest, due to its unusual hue.
he first pup was stuck, so myself and my daughter Claire managed to free him and pull him out safely,” she told The Sun.
Mrs Sutherland said a bit of research revealed the unusual occurrence was due to a condition developed in the placenta.
“It was all hands on deck but then as the puppies started to arrive, we noticed that one of the puppies had green fur. We couldn’t believe it
Veterinarians believe the discoloration comes when light-colored puppies are exposed to a green bile pigment found in the placenta, called biliverdin, which can stain their fur when it mixes with the mother’s amniotic fluid
The colour has faded quite a bit already and will be gone soon, I’m told,” Mrs Sutherland said
There are only three reported cases of puppies being born with green coats in the world, so Forest has become an unique little doggo.

a new USB cable enables you to transfer 20 GB per second
We all thought that USB 3.1 was the fastest port ever because it had a speed of up to 10 GB per second, but it was completely reversed because of the new USB 2.0 port, which is 20 GB per second.
This cable, unfortunately, only works with the USB Type-C ™ because it is capable of carrying this large amount of data. It has been announced today and is expected to be launched in December.
The new version has already released several versions of which the USB 3, which does not exceed the speed of 5 GB per second, after which also launched a new version of USB 3.1 and a speed of 10 GB per second

Anytime's next Amazon application which will beat Watsab
Anytime's next Amazon application which will beat Watsab
Amazon has been reported to be working hard to bring its own messaging platform to compete with Facebook, WAPSAP and others.
It is rumored to be called Anytime. According to the AFTV news agency, Amazon has begun sending questionnaires to its customers about the potential innovative features of the new service.
Infusion has demonstrated a variety of features for the service such as video and voice chat, the ability to play games with your friends and even put effects on images within the app.
However, Amazon will have a lot of work ahead of it to overcome the current big names, as it has already struggled with the Google Allo application to make an impact when it was launched last year but to no avail.
There is currently no news of anytime announcement or date of release, but we can expect it to be released by the end of this year or 2018.
According to the leak, you will not need your phone number to use this service. Instead you will be able to communicate with your friend's name only.
The application has a section called "Private and Safe" which indicates that encryption will be part of the service, but will not be used across the entire messaging application.
Among the subtitles for Anytime is that you will be able to share your location and listen to music within the application. But what if Amazon allowed you to watch movies together?
With Amazon's prime video strategy, your company may be able to make group chats where you enjoy your favorite TV shows and movies at the same time

Bodies Found In Swiss Glacier Believed To Be Couple Missing Since 1942
Bodies Found In Swiss Glacier Believed To Be Couple Missing Since 1942
A shrinking glacier in Switzerland has revealed two frozen bodies believed to be of a couple who went missing 75 years ago, Swiss media report.
Marcelin and Francine Dumoulin disappeared at a height of 2,600m (8,530ft) after going to tend to their cows in the Alps in August 1942.
They were farmers whose seven children never gave up hope of finding them.
Their youngest daughter, 79, said she was now planning to give her parents the funeral they deserved.
Mr and Mrs Dumoulin were never found despite extensive searches.
"We spent our whole lives looking for them," Marceline Udry-Dumoulin told Lausanne daily Le Matin.
Director Bernhard Tschannen said his employee found some backpacks, tin bowls and a glass bottle, as well as male and female shoes, and part of a body under the ice.
Valais police said in a statement that a book, a backpack and a watch had been taken to Lausanne for forensic analysis.
Mr Tschannen said that it was likely the couple had fallen into a crevasse and the way they were dressed implied that they could have been there for 70 or 80 years.
"The bodies were lying near each other. It was a man and a woman wearing clothing dating from the period of World War Two," he told Le Matin.
Ms Udry-Dumoulin said her mother, a teacher, rarely went on such walks with her husband, a shoemaker, because she spent much of her adult life pregnant and it was difficult terrain.
She said that she had never given up hoping that one day she would find her parents, even climbing the glacier three times to look for them.
Within two months of the disappearance of her parents, she and her siblings were placed with different families, and lost contact over the years.
She told Le Matin that she wanted to hold a long-awaited funeral, but would not wear black.
"I think that white would be more appropriate. It represents hope, which I never lost," she said.
The bodies of a number of missing climbers have been discovered in the Alps in recent years.
Climatologists say a rise in global temperatures is causing the ice to recede, revealing the corpses of those missing for decades.

Baby Boy Kisses Mom Goodbye as She Dies After Giving Birth to His Sister
Baby Boy Kisses Mom Goodbye as She Dies After Giving Birth to His Sister
In a heartbreaking photo a 17-month-old toddler kissed his mom one last time before she died from brain damage, just hours after doctors performed an emergency C-section to rescue her baby daughter.
Imogen Petrak checked into a hospital from the Gold Coast in Australia with an ear infection, according to a Go Fund Me page for her now-widowed husband. She was 36 weeks pregnant at the time. The doctors discovered that Imogen’s ear infection had spread to her brain, causing deadly damage.
The medical staff rushed to perform an emergency C-section and Imogen’s daughter, Eleanor, was born four weeks premature and healthy. But Imogen’s fate was not as bright. As her vital signals declined, her baby son, JB, was brought in to give his mom one last kiss.
Today was a very bittersweet day,” wrote John Petrak, Imogen’s husband, in a Facebook message. “At 12:11 a.m. Eleanor Lillian Joy, my first daughter and second child was born via emergency [c-section]. Then some time after 5 p.m., my beautiful wife of three years died from complication of an ear infection.”
The heartbroken father thanked his family for supporting him through the difficult time.
“Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes, but God took her home,” Petrak wrote.
According to his post, the newborn Eleanor will stay in intensive care for a few days to help flush liquid from her lungs.
“She is so beautiful,” wrote Petrak about his daughter. “She has Imogen’s lips, ears, hair.”
Leaving to go home her suitcase she prepared was in the boot, never to be used. At home, her sewing machine on the table, with unfinished work for Eleanor,” the heartborken father wrote.
“Every single plan we had … erased. She was my help and now she is gone. But through all this I have my God, and he has Imogen and my grandparents and in due time he will have me.
Forest Bathing Melds Nature
Forest Bathing Melds Nature&Mindfulness Boost Immunity And Mood
When my editors asked me to report on forest bathing, I packed a swimsuit. I assumed it must involve a dip in the water.
I met certified Forest Therapy guide Melanie Choukas-Bradley and several other women who'd come along for the adventure at the footbridge to Theodore Roosevelt Island, a dense jungle of an urban forest along the Potomac River in Washington, D.C.
Here, I began to get it. Forest bathing isn't a bath. We sat on the banks of the river, but we did not get in the water.
The aim of forest bathing, Choukas-Bradley explained, is to slow down and become immersed in the natural environment. She helped us tune in to the smells, textures, tastes and sights of the forest. We took in our surroundings by using all our senses.
As we passed through a stand of pawpaw trees, we touched the bark. We smelled the black walnuts, which give off a lovely citrus fragrance. We got a little shower of ripe mulberries, too.
"Close your eyes and just breathe, just breathe," Choukas-Bradley intoned. It felt a bit like a meditation retreat.
It took me a few minutes to clear out the clutter in my brain, and tune in to the natural world.
"When you open your eyes, imagine you're seeing the world for the very first time," Choukas-Bradley told us.
After I opened my eyes, the green looked a lot greener. And I began to see things I hadn't noticed before: the flutter of birds, the ripple of the water, the swaying of trees.
A forest guide "helps you be here, not there," says Amos Clifford, a former wilderness guide with a master's degree in counseling, and the founder of the Association of Nature & Forest Therapy, the organization that certifies the guides.
Clifford's goal is to encourage health care providers to incorporate forest therapy as a stress-reduction strategy. There's no question that stress takes a terrible toll in the United States; a 2015 study found work-related stress accounts for up to $190 billion in health care costs each.
"It's my hope that the health care system will include [forest therapy] into the range of services they reimburse for," Clifford says.
The practice began in Japan. Back in the early 1990s the Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries coined the term Shinrin-yoku — which translates roughly as forest bathing.
Another study found inhalation of cedar wood oils led to a small reduction in blood pressure. These are preliminary studies, but scientists speculate that the exposure to these tree compounds might enhance the other benefits of the forest.
The idea that spending time in nature is good for our health is not new. Most of human evolutionary history was spent in environments that lack buildings and walls. Our bodies have adapted to living in the natural world.
But today most of us spend much of our life indoors, or at least tethered to devices. Perhaps the new forest bathing trend is a recognition that many of us need a little nudge to get back out there

Baby Justin Trudeau | meets Canada's prime minister
Baby Justin Trudeau | meets Canada's prime minister
Canadian PM Justin Trudeau has met baby Justin Trudeau - the son of Syrian refugees named after the politician as a thank you to their adopted country.
The two-month-old boy, whose full name is Justin Trudeau Adam Bilan, was snoozing happily as the prime minister briefly held him at a Calgary Stampede breakfast on Saturday.
The boy was born in May in Calgary - several months after his parents and their two children fled Syria's war.
They hail from the capital Damascus.
When they landed in Montreal in February last year, Mr Trudeau was not there to greet them at the airport, as he did with other Syrian refugees.
But the couple, Muhammad and Afraa Bilan, felt they had to give their thanks to him in some way so have named their newborn son after him.
Between November 2015, when Mr Trudeau became prime minister, and January this year, more than 40,000 Syrian refugees have been resettled in Canada. About 1,000 of them moved to Calgary.

a Cross Stitch Artwork Took Her 4 Years
has gone viral after she shared her mom’s incredible cross stitch artwork that took 4 years to complete.
The amazing work is a cross stitch representation of an oil painting by John William Waterhouse entitled ‘The Soul of the Rose‘ (1908)
ve pretty severe anxiety along with bipolar (II) disorder. I taught myself how to crochet and it can usually soothe a lot of my anxiety and racing thoughts when I'm in a manic episode. And that feeling of accomplishment and success whenever I figure out a problem or mistake, even more so when I complete a piece, when I'm feeling like I'm a failure at everything else is awesome.
A few years ago I dedicated myself to a huge granny square blanket. I aimed for it to fit my queen size bed but it wanted it to hang over the sides a bit whereas most just fit across the top. It was 12 rows x 15 rows of 6 inch x 6 inch sunburst granny squares.
It took me off and on almost a year (the final push to get it done took me about a week of nonstop working on this thing) to finish, I used scrap yarn from other projects to make the sunbursts.
As much as I loved doing it and as proud as I was (still am) of the final product, I used to say I'd never do it again. Truth is, I'm getting the itch to do something just as big and time consuming. And just let me say, before i really started crocheting, I came across this crochet blanket on etsy this woman was selling for $600. I thought she was insane. But after having done one myself, I can see it. All the yarn you need (yarn can get really expensive!) the time and skill it takes to crochet something that big then plan it out and put it together... I see it.

Mystery of the 5,000-year-old giants
Mystery of the 5,000-year-old giants
Excavation on site in Jiaojia village, China's Shandong province began in 2016
The site is considered to be some 5,000 years old
Archaeologists found men measuring five foot 11 inches tall
It's thought that the taller men in bigger graves were of a higher status
The discovery of the 'unusually tall and strong' people was made in Jiaojia village close to Jinan in eastern China.
The men measured from five foot 11 inches to six foot three inches which would have been considered extremely tall 5,000 years ago, reports the People's Daily Online.
Archaeologists began excavating the ruins of 104 houses, 205 graves and 20 sacrificial pits at the village in Shandong province in 2016.
The relics are from a late Neolithic civilisation located near the lower reaches of the Yellow River.
It's thought that the taller men, found in the larger tombs were of a high status. Their height is thought to be down to their ability to acquire better food.
Shandong locals are widely considered to be among the tallest in China. This is backed up by official statistics. In 2015, the average height of men aged 18 in Shandong was 5.75 feet compared with a national average of 5.64 feet.
People lived comfortable lives in the village with some containing jade articles and colourful pottery.
Archaeologists found damage to the head and the leg bones of some of the bodies which is thought to have been caused by power struggles among high-ranking people.

Woman loses more than 12 STONE after suffering years of chronic backache
Woman loses more than 12 STONE after suffering years of chronic backache
A woman who spent 13 years 'significantly overweight' has transformed her life by shedding an incredible 12 stone 7 lbs in two years.
Rosalynn Bartlett, 40 from Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire weighed a staggering 24 stone 4 lbs but gave little thought to her weight until it started affecting her health.
At her heaviest, the head of finance was suffering from chronic backache, breathlessness and swollen ankles as a result of her size.
But since embarking on a gruelling diet and fitness regime in January 2015, Rosalynn has slimmed down to a size 12 - and is now preparing to run her first half marathon.
When Rosalynn got home from her holiday, she made the decision to get healthy again before her health could worsen.
‘I realised that I placed more value on my car and home then I did on myself,' she said. 'This was stupid, as I wouldn’t put diesel in my petrol car but I would fill myself with rubbish food and expect everything to work fine.’
In January 2015 Rosalynn began to change her diet and started exercising, but she soon realised it wouldn't be an overnight transformation.
‘I realised that this needed to be a long-term change as I realised that to lose 14 stone would take me a considerable time and I would not be able to sustain a radical plan that long,' she said.
‘I started with just a couple of changes, including logging my food intake, prepping food for the week ahead and joining a weekly Zumba class.
'I found that once this was a routine then I would add additional changes over time, like eating more veg, walking up the stairs or drinking less wine. Over time the weight began to go.’
After the first 12 months, her new lifestyle became easier: ‘After a year I found that I didn’t feel like I was on a diet, but that I was just living normally,’ Rosalynn said.
Now, more than 12 stone lighter and still slimming, Rosalynn is feeling more confident than ever.
‘My life has changed dramatically in that prior to losing weight I would sit around and lead a very sedentary life even when meeting friends,' she explained.
'Now I am much more active, with running, swimming and generally I just want to be out and about all the time. And of course it is great being able to get into a size 12!’
Rosalynn, who is currently training for her first half marathon (13.1 miles), added: ‘I started running in August 2016 as I wanted to run 5k, with a view that maybe I would go to 10k at some point in the future.
I used a 5k running app to help me and in February 2017 I achieved this first target and, without really thinking about it I just carried on adding kilometres until over the Easter weekend I managed 10k.’
‘By this point I had completely got the running bug and immediately began to think about the next challenge to achieve, and a half marathon came to mind
