German authorities clear Opel diesel motor – report

Germany's Federal Office for Motor Vehicles has approved diesel engines of General Motors' (GM.N) Opel unit, after initial doubts about whether the engine control software was permissible, weekly Bild am Sonntag reported.
Engines of the 2.0 CDTI type which are built into Insignia, Cascada or Zafira branded cars have been cleared, the paper reported.
Opel had no comment while the Federal Office for Motor Vehicles was not immediately available for comment.
A German investigating committee earlier this year shortlisted 30 car models which showed suspiciously high levels of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions for further testing after Volkswagen (VOWG_p.DE) admitted it cheated U.S. emissions tests by installing software capable of deceiving regulators.A view shows the logo of Opel on a car in Moscow, Russia, July 6, 2016. Among the carmakers under scrutiny was Opel which had admitted that its Zafira model includes engine software that switches off exhaust treatment systems under certain circumstances
Malia Obama’s choice to attend Lollapalooza rather than the Democratic National Convention (DNC) caused her name and her decision to be splashed across the headlines of various news sources. People also took to social media to express their opinions on whether they thought she “should” have gone to the DNC instead of the Chicago music festival or whether they think she’s doing what “normal” teenagers do – having fun.
Headlines such as “Malia Spotted at Lollapalooza,” “Malia Seen Dancing at Lollapalooza Instead of Attending the DNC” and “Malia Obama Continues to Live It Up at Lollapalooza” suddenly began popping up everywhere. The judgement Malia is facing right now is only one of the many times she has been judged.
Having grown up in the public eye for the last several years, President Obama’s eldest daughter has faced what every offspring of the President of the United States has faced – intense scrutiny. Remember the scrutiny Chelsea Clinton was under during former President Bill Clinton’s years in the White House? And how about George W. Bush’s twin daughters, Jenna and Barbara?
In 2014, Elizabeth Lauten, the communications director for Rep. Stephen Fincher (R-Tenn.), resigned after writing a scathing Facebook post about Malia and Sasha.
“Dear Sasha and Malia, I get you’re both in those awful teen years, but you’re a part of the First Family, try showing a little class. At least respect the part you play. Then again your mother and father don’t respect their positions very much, or the nation for that matter, so I’m guessing you’re coming up a little short in the ‘good role model’ department… Act like being in the White House matters to you… And certainly don’t make faces during televised public events.”
While Lauten apologized after she was accused of cyberbullying Malia and Sasha, she still wrote the post criticizing the girls in the first place.
Social media blew up with some users blasting Malia for skipping the DNC, while others applauded Malia for going to Lollapalooza, adding she has the right to just be a normal teenager for the weekend instead of succumbing to what some people expect her to do.
Glamour reports Lollapalooza is held at Grant Park in Chicago, which, coincidentally, is where Malia’s father gave his victory speech after the 2008 presidential election, and a new library is to be built there in his honor.
Malia didn’t attend Lollapalooza alone. Secret Service agents surrounded her, keeping an eye out for her safety and wearing matching plaid shirts and khaki pants. A Twitter user shared a snap of the agents and their matching, “casual” outfits.
Thursday night, around the same time Hillary Clinton was making history as the first woman to secure a major party’s presidential nomination, Malia was among the crowd watching Norwegian producer Cashmere Cat’s set, according to the Huffington Post. Those in the crowd near Malia took pictures and recorded videos of her watching the musical act.
One Twitter user wrote, “Was going hard to @CASHMERECAT and then Secret Service and Malia Obama just pull up.”
Then Friday night at Lollapalooza, Malia was seen up on stage dancing to Mac Miller’s set, and Just Jared reports the “crowd went crazy.” Malia’s younger sister,Sasha, was spotted watching Major Lazer and Future on Friday night.
Malia is heading to Harvard in the fall and deserves to let loose once in a while, but it isn’t surprising that people have taken issue with her decision to go to Lollapalooza instead of the DNC. Remember what it was like to be 18? Which would you have rather done at that age?
This weekend’s trip to Lollapalooza isn’t the first one for Malia. Malia alsoattended Lollapalooza in 2014 and was seen at Chance the Rapper’s set.
A White House spokesperson declined to comment on Malia’s attendance at Lollapalooza.

Why Malia Obama's dancing is none of your business

     Happy birthday, Malia Obama.
She has not even been 18 for one month and the media sensation around her - as a woman, with - gasp - the body of a woman - is in full swing.
Having graduated high school, the president’s daughter will no longer enjoy that protective wall of "childhood" which does a relatively good job at keeping the media at bay.
daughters before her, including Chelsea Clinton, she is in for a rude awakening as she becomes fair game in the eyes of the public.
There are more than 17 million Google search results for Malia, and around half that number for her 15-year-old sister Sasha.
A video of her dancing - some are calling it “twerking” - is already going viral. She chose to attend the Lollapalooza in Chicago, instead of going to the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, like any young adult would.
In the video, girls in the crowd are screaming their appreciation as Malia smiles and dances along. They are delighted that she, the president’s daughter, is just like them. This is the same girl who prompts a reported White House "security probe" when she
But the decision to skip the convention has caused upset among conservatives, and will no doubt give most media outlets a reason to zero in on those dance moves.
The notion that a young woman can enjoy herself at a festival! And the audacity that the president’s daughter can act so care-free while her parents are giving moving speeches about her and her sister Sasha at the Democratic National Convention!

This is not the first time she had gone to the festival. Nevertheless, the New York Post, along with many other publications, has gone berserk. ABC was harassing a teenage boy about whether they could use his pictures of her at the concert with the Secret Service in tow within minutes of him uploading it.
It’s wrong. The obsession with Malia Obama, from what she wears, to her 18th birthday party and her internship with Lena Dunham last summer, is being fueled by misogyny and bigotry, by people who believe young women should act in a certain way.
Perhaps, if she's going to dance, it should be more of an awkward shuffle? If she's going to dress up, surely it should be a buttoned-up cardigan and jeans, and God forbid she show her midriff.
While she was letting her hair down, her mother was telling the story of how her two daughters have grown up in the White House.
"I also told you about our daughters, how they are the heart of our hearts, the center of our world," said Michelle Obama. "And during our time in the White House, we’ve had the joy of watching them grow from bubbly little girls into poised young women, a journey that started soon after we arrived in Washington."
With only six months left in Washington DC, it will not be long before Malia and her sister are freed from personal bodyguards and bullet-proof cars. She will have a gap year and go on to Harvard University, and hopefully continue to retain some semblance of a normal life.

Malia Obama Caught on Video Twerking and Flashing the Crowd at Lollapalooza

First daughter Malia Obama skipped out on the Democratic National Convention last week (who can blame her?) so she could attend Lollapalooza, the annual music fest in Chicago. The 18-year-old recently graduated from high school and is planning to take a gap year before she begins classes at Harvard in 2017.
Her Secret Service agents must have their hands full trying to keep Malia safe amid the swarms of concertgoers, many of whom were there to enjoy more than just the music. Last year there were 34 arrests and 238 people were sent to hospitals, many for excessive drug and alcohol use. One hospital reported treating teenagers with two to three times the legal alcohol limit after they mixed hard liquor with marijuana, ecstasy or cocaine.
It looks like Malia was just there to enjoy the music and dancing. And boy, did she ever enjoy the dancing. She was caught on camera twerking and flipping up the shirt she had tied around her waist, revealing her short shorts, while she partied with some of her girlfriends during the Mac Miller concert. Analysts Recommend a Buy on This Stock: HDFC Bank Limited (NYSE:HDB)

Wall Street analysts are holding on to a Buy rating on shares of HDFC Bank Limited (NYSE:HDB).  Using the following ratings scale: 1.0 Strong Buy, 2.0 Buy, 3.0 Hold, 4.0 Sell and 5.0 Strong Sell, analysts have an average recommendation of 1.50 on the shares.  Based on a recent trade, the shares are hovering around $69.27 which, according to analysts, yield significant upside potential to the $75.60 consensus target price.
Wall Street firms hire hundreds of analysts who provide recommendations on stocks.  Typically, these analysts look at a company’s fundamentals, building financial models from this information in order to project future trends, specifically future earnings.  These projections are then used as a basis for providing “buy” or “sell” recommendations.  Many investors consider these recommendations very seriously, and often times whenever an analyst changes their outlook on a stock, the price change almost immediately.
Analyst recommendations should be approached with caution for many reasons.  Many times a conflict of interest arises due to the relationship between company that they work for and the company whose stock they are paid to track.  Often, analysts are responsible for creating reports on companies that are currently or could potentially be a client of their employer.  Analysts don’t want to offend any companies that could possibly be a potential client down the road, so they are inclined to put a positive spin on the stock.
Beyond issuing buy, sell, or hold recommendations, analysts also create earnings estimates.  These are earnings per share (EPS) numbers that analysts believe a particular company will report on its next statement.  These estimates have been growing in importance on Wall Street over the years, because the companies that “beat” their estimates usually see their stock prices grow while those who don’t usually watch them shrink.
Earnings estimates can also be manipulated, as the analysts are inclined to minimize them so that it increases the chances that a stock will “beat” the artificially lowered estimate in order to get inexperienced investors to buy.
Earnings Per Share
Earnings per share (EPS) is the portion of a company’s earnings allocated to each share of common stock.  EPS is calculated by dividing net income earned by the total number of shares outstanding during a given time period.  A weighted average is used because the number of shares outstanding can fluctuate.  EPS is a heavily scrutinized indicator that is often used to gauge a company’s profitability per shareholder ownership. EPS is a key influencer on share prices.  Wall Street is predicting HDFC Bank Limited’s forward P/E to be 20.80.
