Next Sony 2017 Xperia flagship: What's the story so far ?
It is no secret that when it comes to smartphones, Sony’s presence in the market these days isn’t what it used to be, but that’s hardly surprising given that Sony has decided to reduce focus on quite a few markets, instead choosing to focus on its home market of Japan. However despite their reduced presence, the company could have something interesting up their sleeves
Sony's most recent flagship, the Xperia XZ Premium, is all about specs and power. Not a huge amount changed in terms of design, aside from a few adjustments here and there, but it ticks almost all the boxes on the numbers sheet.
That of course means that its successor not only has its work cut out for it in the specs department, but with competitor flagships becoming more exciting in terms of design, Sony will need to pull something out of the bag in that area too.
In a recent rumor posted onto Weibo (via PhoneArena), word on the street has it that Sony might have a bezel-less flagship smartphone in the works that they could unveil at IFA 2017 which is scheduled to take place later this year. So far Sony’s handsets for the most part have kept to the same design over the years, making minor changes here and there, but otherwise it’s still very obviously Sony.
Assuming this rumor is true, it would mark the first time in a long time that Sony could be shaking up their design philosophy. It wouldn’t really be surprising either especially when you consider that many of the competition is similarly opting to cut down on the bezels of their displays, with Apple also rumored to follow suit.
At the moment Sony’s flagship is the Xperia XZ Premium which was recently made available in the US. Whether or not this rumored new flagship will find its way stateside remains to be seen, so take it with a grain of salt for now.
Mallard Ducks Spotted Hunting And Eating Small Birds
Visits to the park will never be the same again, as wild Mallard ducks (Anas platyrhynchos) have been documented for the first time ever hunting down and eating other birds at Trei Ape reservoir in southwest Romania.
The research into this elusive, never-before-recorded phenomenon can be found in the in the journal Waterbirds.
The new study documents an overcast day, when an 11-strong group of Mallards was spotted repeatedly attacking, drowning, and then munching down on a baby Black Redstart (Phoenicurus ochruros) bird. Another sighting also saw Mallards attacking then consuming a Grey Wagtail (Motacilla cinerea). Both species are small, common birds, and it is thought the ducks could catch them because they were young struggling fledglings.
Typically, Mallard ducks live on a simple diet of aquatic plant life and insects. The only vertebrates Mallards are known to also occasionally eat are fish and amphibians. This behavior is particularly unexpected since Mallard ducks are rarely aggressive or predatory in both the wild and farming environments, especially compared to other duck species like Muscovy Ducks.
One theory the researchers have is that the Mallards were struggling with a lack of animal proteins, perhaps due to intense competition for insect larvae by fish introduced for angling. In a desperate bid for high-protein food during egg-laying season, the ducks turned to eating other birds.
So, if you’ve ever documented Mallard ducks partaking in this kind of predatory behavior, Dr Silviu Petrovan would like to hear from you.
This rare, newly-documented behavior comes with some concerns, though. The researchers noted the predation of birds by Mallards could increase transmission of pathogens such as parasites or Salmonella, which is worrying as ducks are eaten by humans. The risk is low since this behavior appears to be extremely rare, however, the transmission of “bugs” has been shown before among birds that predate other bird species
Free Internet access to all Earth inhabitants from space in April
The British METRO website published a new report on the antagonism of the launch of a very fast Internet that is expected to cover all corners of the globe from space, where it is preparing to launch the largest rocket campaign in the history of space flights, and will be the number of more than 2000 satellites under part of a special project Airbus and Uniob.
These satellites will work together to form a huge constellation, connecting the Internet to the entire world, in a way that is completely different from the current Internet, which relies on marine cables and costs hundreds of millions of dollars and takes a long time.
On the other hand, the British bbc website pointed out that these satellites will be manufactured in Toulouse and Florida. As a first stage, 10 satellites will be launched in the beginning in April. The project will aim to put about 600 satellites in 2022 and then as a last stage 800 by 2025.

Facebook wants to compete with Netflix for its own television programs and series
The Wall Street newspaper reported on Sunday that Facebook is in talks with Hollywood studios about producing television-quality television programs to launch original programs by the end of the summer.
The social networking giant said he was prepared to commit to production budgets of up to $ 3 million per episode, in meetings with Hollywood talent agencies, citing people familiar with the issue.
Facebook hopes to target audiences from the age of 13 to 34, with a focus on the range from 17 to 30. The company has already produced a drama called Strangers and a Last State Standing Games program, according to the report.
Nick Grudin, vice president of media partnerships at Facebook, said: "We focus on programs with episodes and help all our partners understand what works across different sectors and topics."
The company is expected to issue the episodes in a traditional way, rather than issuing a full season at once, such as Netflix and Amazon.com, Wall Street reported.
The company also wants to share viewers' data with Hollywood, the report said.
Facebook programs will be supported by ads, so it's likely that their offers will be available for free

72-year-old Indian mom is possibly world’s oldest to give birth to first child
Many couples have turned to IVF treatment with the hopes of getting a child. Likewise, a couple in their 70s sought help from IVF treatment and their wish is finally granted
72-year-old Daljinder Kaur successfully gave birth to her first child in April 2016 after receiving IVF treatment for the third time. The baby boy was born in the National Fertility Centre in Haryana state, India. The center offers fertility treatment for women who are already decades into their menopause
After being married for 46 years, she and her 79-year-old husband, Mohinder Singh Gill, were overjoyed to have their own baby. “Everyone asked me to adopt a baby but I never wanted to. Now I have my own child,” she told The Telegraph in an interview.
We will raise him and give him a proper education. I had faith in Almighty that I will have my own baby, and Waheguru (Sikh term for God) answered my prayers,” she added.
God heard our prayers. My life feels complete now,” she told Agence France-Presse.
Katy Perry US singer s first to 100m Twitter followers
The website posted a video compilation of her tweets since she joined in 2009 along with a message saying "Today, we #WITNESS history".
Witness is the name of Perry's new album.
The Canadian singer Justin Bieber has the second highest number of followers at 96.7m with Barack Obama in third place with almost 91m.
The rest of the top 100 accounts are mostly made up of singers, sports stars, media companies and a few politicians, according to the website Twitter Counter.
US president Donald Trump is the most-followed current leader, in 33rd place with 32.4m followers. Two places behind him - after the boy band One Direction - is Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi with 30.7m followers
However it is not clear how many of these accounts' followers are real people and how many may be fake accounts.
Searches using the tool Twitter Audit - which analyses a sample of followers and calculates a score based on factors including the number of tweets they have sent - suggested that about two-thirds of both Perry's and Bieber's followers may not be real.
For Mr Obama and Mr Trump the figure dropped to about a third.
In January researchers in the UK discovered massive collections of dormant fake Twitter accounts.
Some had been used to fake follower numbers, send spam and boost interest in trending topics, the researchers found.
Twitter says users are banned from writing programs that automatically followed or unfollowed accounts or which "favourited" tweets in bulk.
He gets married after he has survived cancer three times | After Our First
When Joey Renick went to a camp for kids with cancer as a 10-year-old, he couldn't have imagined the impact it would have on his life.
Diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) as a three-year-old, he attended the Camp His Kids – a camp for cancer sufferers and their siblings – with his sister Carol Anne.
There he met Caylee Miller, who was with Carol Anne in the siblings group.
Caylee, also 10 at the time, was there with her sister Taylor, who had been diagnosed with a rare type of cancer called Hemangiopericytoma
Six years later, when Taylor died from her illness in 2008, Joey helped Caylee through the tough time.
The pair stayed in touch through phone and texts but "lived too far away to date
But after Joey's cancer returned in 2011, just before his 18th birthday, he decided it was time to ask Caylee out on their first date
We probably were in Starbucks talking for hours about topics neither of us really ever talked about with anyone else,” Joey recalled.
We only stopped talking when the workers told us they were closing the store for the night. I know this will sound cliche but I honestly knew I loved her after our first date together.
I had never in my life felt so comfortable talking to someone and felt the way I do around her.”
For their first year of dating Caylee visited him in hospital but says seeing sister Taylor through her illness prepared her for what was to come with Joey.
For a normal person it might have been too much, but for me I was familiar so it didn’t feel like too much,” she told People Magazine.
However, she tells ABC News it wasn't always easy as it brought back a lot of memories of her beloved sister's battle.
Joey was being treated at the same hospital my sister was treated at and many of the doctors and nurses were the same," she said.
"It brought back a lot of memories of the time Taylor was sick
In November 2015, Joey went into remission and proposed to Caylee as they recreated their first date to Starbucks.
However, his cancer returned for a third time amid the wedding planning, putting everything on hold so Joey could get the bone marrow transplant he needed, which he received from his sister in June 2016
The couple, now both aged 23 years, finally said I do” in an intimate ceremony in May.
And the wedding was made extra special as they tied the knot on Seacrest Beach, Florida - the same place Caylee's family last holidayed with Taylor.
The newlyweds are determined to remain positive and focus on the now, despite Joey's recent relapse and the fact Joey’s nephew (Carol Anne’s four-year-old son) Thomas has recently been diagnosed with ALL also.
Each day is a gift and that’s what I focus on,Caylee said.
The pair are now sharing their story to promote Kellsie's Hope, a charity granting wishes to those dealing with a cancer relapse and who helped the couple with their dream wedding.
They also want to give other cancer-stricken families hope, saying their tale is a reminder that out of hard time, good things can come
Little Girl Thinks This Bride Is Real-Life Princess From Her Book,
Most girls get to meet princesses only in Disneyland, but this little girl, she met one on the streets of Seattle.
“My wife and I got married last February, and during the photo shoot this little girl and her mom happened to be walking by,” Scott Robertson writes. “The little girl thought my beautiful wife was the Princess from her favorite book (the one she’s holding).” Since this all happened during their photo shoot, photographer Stephanie Cristalli managed to snap some photos. The little girl even got a flower from the bride’s, Shandace Lerma’s, bouquet. “Your wife is forever the Princess of Ballard to her,” the little girl’s mom told Scott.

Today – Monday June 12, 2017 – is World Meat-Free Day, which celebrates an initiative that hopes to get everyone to adopt a vegetarian diet for just 24 hours. The aim is to promote healthier diets, living sustainably, and cutting our carbon footprint.
Right – let’s do the math, as they say. We’ll be sticking to SI units for now, but we’re nice, so we shall convert things to Imperial units right at the end.
The average meat consumption in the US per person – which also takes into account vegetarians – is 90 kilograms per year, as of 2014. That’s about 0.25 kilograms per day, which across the entire population of the US is 80.4 million kilograms of meat per day. (That’s far higher than the global average, by the way, but we digress
Producing meat takes quite a lot of energy. You have to provide either feed to the animals or let them graze on open pastures. Either way, you need to grow that food, as well as water the land and keep the cattle from getting parched – all of which generates carbon dioxide emissions.
You need electricity for all this too, and the upkeep, transportation, and processing all bring with them an additional carbon footprint. The methane emissions that escape out of the mouths and butts of these animals – particularly cows – is also a major contributing factor to the carbon footprint.
A report by the nonprofit, US-based Environmental Working Group (EWG) calculated, using the best available data, the total amount of carbon dioxide produced per kilogram of meat product, for both farming and post-farming environments, for a variety of livestock.
For the sake of simplicity, we’ve gone with the most common types of meat: beef, chicken, pork, and lamb. We aren’t taking into account fish, dairy, eggs, turkey nor veal – which means these numbers are a very conservative estimate.
Per kilo of beef, you get 39.25 kilos of carbon dioxide; the same goes for lamb. Pork produces 12.12, and chicken just 6.8.
not believe that these twin saw the shape twenty years later
Twenty years ago, when given the news she was having twin girls, a pregnant Donna Aylmer wept. While many parents do this when learning the news they are having more than the one baby they expected, Aylmer had even more of a surprise in store for her. When her twin girls were born in Gloucester, England a few months later, they looked nothing alike.
Most twins that are not identical still share enough resemblance to at least look like twins, or at the very least, siblings. However, this was not true of Aylmer’s twins, Lucy and Maria. When the two girls were born, Lucy came out with red hair, blue eyes, and very light skin with freckles. On the other hand, Maria donned brown skin and eyes and had dark, curly hair.
The interesting twins, which many cannot even identify as sisters when looking at them, resulted from a combination of parental genetics. Donna Aylmer is biracial herself, being half black and half white. Aylmer’s husband, however, is white. When the twins were born, their parents were stunned by their contrasting complexions. Furthermore, as the girls continued to grow up, turning eighteen in 2015, they continued to look less and less alike.
According to The Daily Mail, “People with Afro-Caribbean heritage often have some European DNA, dating back in many cases to the slave trade. This increases the chance of them passing on a gene for white skin to at least one twin.”
While the sisters are extremely close and say they are best friends, most people who know them have a hard time believing the fact that they are related since their appearances are so different. Lucy Aylmer stated about her and her sister, “No one ever believes we are twins. Even when we dress alike, we still don’t look like sisters, let alone twins. Friends have even made us produce our birth certificates to prove it. … We couldn’t look more different if we tried. We don’t look like we have the same parents, let alone having been born at the same time.”
Furthermore, each twin admits hating something about her looks. Lucy commented about going to school with her sister, “They thought I was adopted and called me a ghost.” Lucy admits she was bullied in school as a result of this, but her sister was envious of her appearance regardless. Maria loves Lucy’s hair, and commented, “I used to cry about it. I hate my curly hair.”
The sisters also have three older siblings. Lucy said about them, “Our brothers and sisters have skin which is in between Maria and I. We are at opposite ends of the spectrum, and they are all somewhere in between.”
Besides their very different appearances, the two sisters also have opposing personalities. Maria is more social, while Lucy is far quieter, and the two feel they balance each other out well. At this point in their lives, the two twins have accepted who they both are, and are quite fond of each other. “If I have kids one day, they might come out looking like Lucy,” Maria said
Man Finds Hidden Room In Basement | Played A Huge Role In History
A Reddit user with the less-than-amusing handle of “IvebeentoYungay” was the person who shared this discovery with the world. He claims that this basement is in his family home and that the photographs document the secret room’s discovery accurately. He tells us, “The room was found in the basement of the house I grew up in, which was completed in 1849. It is 25 miles south of the Canadian border.” The home’s location near a national border is significant to the tale he then goes on to tell about the room’s importance to American history.
It looks pretty ordinary, doesn’t it? In fact, there’s nothing at all that suggests this isn’t the typical basement of any American family home. Obviously, a bunch of water softeners have no historical significance at all. It’s what lies behind them that is truly amazing. They mask a secret which is very much connected to the darkest side of America’s history in the 19th century. It was a different time when many Americans had very different values from the ones that we hold so dear today. It seems that places like this basement played a part in creating our modern values.
The Reddit user says that his family had always had a story about a secret hiding place within their home. Yet, they’d never been able to find any evidence of this being true. They knew it was supposed to be under the fireplace, but nobody wanted to tear up their living room floor to see if this was the case. So, they had contented themselves with trying to find evidence of the room from the basement, but still they had no success. This, it would transpire, is because the room needed to be well disguised to prevent discovery by the law and by bounty hunters.
Our intrepid Reddit user discovered the room one day after a careful survey of the basement. It lay behind a wall. Not just any wall mind you, but a more recently constructed stone wall compared to the rest of the home which is 32 inches thick! He found that with the assistance of a step ladder that it was possible to find an opening at the top of the wall and to be able to peer into the room. What he saw confirmed the family rumor – the house had indeed been used as part of a smuggling network in the 19th century.
The room’s main users were African-Americans. The secret hiding place was part of the Underground Railroad of the 19th century. This was a network designed to facilitate the freedom of black slaves from parts of America in which slavery was legal to free states and indeed, across the border into Canada which is why the home’s position near a border is so important. Why was it called the “Underground Railroad?” It was because the whole endeavor had to be kept a secret, so the activists would refer to their activities using railroad terminology. This kept their communication safe from prying ears
An escaped slave who entered the underground railroad looking for their passage to freedom would be called a “passenger” in the coded language of the underground. Those who helped “passengers” escape by taking direct action would be known as “agents.” A room such as the one the Reddit user found in his home would be called a “station” as it was a place to wait for the next “agent” to take action. The person whose home the “station” was in would be called a “station master.” Those who guided the “passengers” across the country would be known as a “conductor
It is hard to picture a land where men, women, and children were bought and sold, isn’t it? America today is so far removed from those times that it just doesn’t seem real. Yet, it was all too real and more than 100,000 men and women escaped slavery thanks to the underground railway. It is thought that approximately 1 in 3 escaped slaves fled north and into “British North America.” Today, that territory is known as Canada, but on the Underground Railway, it was often called “Heaven,” “The Promised Land” or it was simply theinal stop on the “Gospel Train

Larry the cat holds the fort outside Number 10 he is the real winner of the General Election.
Even though he may have a new owner soon, Larry the cat is definitely staying in Number 10.
He has been spotted holding the fort, sitting proudly outside Downing Street.
As the media waits for Theresa May to give a statement following the shock election result, Larry has sat in front of them as if he wants to answer their questions.
Larry has only ever been owned by a Conservative Prime Minister - first David Cameron, then Theresa May.
If Jeremy Corbyn had moved to Downing Street, there were fears the puss could scrap with his communist cat, El Gato.
However, Mr Corbyn had previously said he may not move to Downing Street, and instead stay in his little house in Islington.
This would mean Larry the cat could end up without a live-in owner.
However, he always gets fed and doted upon by adoring civil servants, no matter which Prime Ministers come and go from Downing Street.
In that sense, he is the real winner of the General Election.
Walmart employees break window to save baby in hot car
soures = foxnews.com
Officers and EMS responded to the Walmart on Dorman Centre Drive between 4 and 5 p.m. in regards to a child abandonment call.
According to the incident report, a shopper was loading up her own children into a shopping cart in the parking lot when she heard a baby crying. The report states the woman then saw the baby in a van with the windows rolled up. The woman said the 6-month-old was sweating, alone inside.
As of 5:15 p.m., the average temperature in Spartanburg was 75 degrees.
The woman then ran to get help from store employees after unsuccessfully trying to open the van doors. Police the manager and co-manager of the Walmart came out to the vehicle where they saw the infant sweating and shaking inside the van, before deciding to break out the windows of the vehicle to get to the child.
The employee, after smashing a rear window of the van, was able to reach in and unlock the car seat straps, pulling the baby out. Police said the employee described the car seat as "soaked in sweat."
The employees then contacted EMS and city police about the incident. EMS took custody of the baby when they arrived at the scene, and transported her to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
The incident report said that the child's father told police he was supposed to be dropping her off with her mother, but became distracted and never did so, proceeding on to Walmart and forgetting the baby was inside the vehicle. He told police he had been up since 1 a.m. and hadn't slept since, the report states.
The child was not injured when the windows were busted out of the van, according to the incident report.
Walmart released the following statement on the incident:
"We cannot stress enough the importance that parents always check their cars and have their children with them at all times while at our stores. We’re grateful this baby wasn’t hurt and that the quick thinking of our associates and local emergency crews helped prevent the situation from taking a tragic turn.
Peter Sallis | Wallace and Gromit actor dies aged 96
Peter Sallis has died at the age of 96, his agents have announced.
The actor was best known for appearing in Last of the Summer Wine and was also famous as the voice of Wallace in Wallace and Gromit.
His agent confirmed he died peacefully with his family by his side.
Sallis played Norman "Cleggy" Clegg in Last of the Summer Wine from its first episode in 1973 until the series concluded in 2010.
He was the only actor to appear in all 295 episodes of the sitcom
Peter Sallis was best known as the mild-mannered Norman Clegg in Last of the Summer Wine.
By the time he first appeared in the role he had already carved out a distinguished career in the theatre and on television.
His role as the flat-capped philosopher made him the longest-serving cast member of the much-loved series.
And he reached an even wider audience as the voice of Wallace, the cheese-loving character in the animated Wallace and Gromit films.
Working with him was always a delight and I will miss his wry, unpredictable humour and silliness that started the moment he greeted you at the door, and didn't stop when the mic was switched off
Park added: "Peter had naturally funny bones and was a great storyteller and raconteur off stage too and would keep us amused for hours
said: "It is with sadness that we announce that our client Peter Sallis died peacefully, with his family by his side, at Denville Hall on Friday 2 June.
Denville Hall is a retirement home for actors, and is also where Fawlty Towers actor Andrew Sachs died last year
The Wallace and Gromit films won three Oscars and Sallis often spoke about how glad he was to have such success late in life.
"It is pleasing knowing millions are going to see your work and enjoy it," he said. "To still be involved in a project like this at my age is heartwarming
2017's Most-Pinned Engagement Ring Is Basically Lauren Conrad's
Pinterest has released its most-pinned engagement ring of 2017 and the design might look familiar to you. That's because it's basically Lauren Conrad's rock: a big-ass round-cut solitaire set in a plain, rose-gold band.
The news isn't surprising, considering everything Lauren Conrad does is Pinterest-perfect. In fact, it begs the question: Why hasn't this ring been the most-pinned since 2013, when she got engaged?
The good news? You can actually already shop a Lauren-approved carbon copy design of L.C.'s ring at Kohl's. It is pretty affordable, as far as engagement rings go — the only difference is the pink morganite center stone, which takes the place of her diamond
Alex Honnold has shocked the sport of climbing by reaching the peak of El Capitan without using ropes, climbing one of the world's largest monoliths in less than four hours with little gear other than a bag of chalk.
Speechless wrote the American Alpine Journal in its response to the news that Honnold had tackled the imposing 3,000-foot granite wall in a "free-solo," ascent, climbing alone and without safety gear.
Honnold raced up the wall in 3 hours and 56 minutes, prompting Alpinist magazine to say, "This is indisputably the greatest free solo of all time. Congratulations, Alex!
"This man," Honnold's friend and fellow climbing star Conrad Anker wrote on Facebook. Respect. Life goal realized.
After his climb, Honnold told National Geographic that the first challenge was simply to walk up to the California monolith, sit next to the base and put his climbing shoes on.
Obviously, that's like, the thing to do," Honnold said when discussing El Capitan with Pullan in 2016, adding, "it's always seemed really scary."
Honnold, 31, has become famous for eye-popping ascents that rely on his unique blend of athleticism and mental focus, ascending Yosemite's Half Dome and Zion National Park's Moonlight Buttress. But Gripped says of Honnold's El Capitan free-solo climb, "this is by far the most groundbreaking."
While Honnold said in the podcast that he found the idea of free-soloing the monolith "out of the question," he also told Pullan that he'd been studying it for years and "El Cap is definitely doable."
"I mean, there are two routes that you could potentially do, like Freeride or Golden Gate — they're the two easiest free routes," Honnold said, in a statement that only makes sense coming from someone who's often called one of the greatest rock climbers the world has ever seen

It is considered that the favorite saying in life that everyone should look at the full part of the cup and any obstacles he has to rise again and try to continue and achieve what he wants
one of the worst serial-killer cases in Canadian history. A former nurse has pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the deaths of eight nursing home residents in Elizabeth Wettlaufer also pleaded guilty to four counts of attempted murder and two counts of aggravated assault. The 49-year-old, who appeared in a Woodstock, Ontario, courtroom, admitted to killing eight seniors and hurting six others. Wettlaufer acknowledged under questioning from the judge that she injected all 14 with insulin for no medical reason. All the incidents allegedly occurred between 2007 and 2014 in three Ontario long-term care facilities where Wettlaufer worked as a registered nurse. The prosecution read from an agreed statement of facts, saying that Wettlaufer told police she knew that "if your blood sugar goes low enough, you can die." In at least one case, Wettlaufer was spurred to act by growing rage over her job and her life, which built up inside her until she felt an "urge to kill," the prosecution told the court. Wettlaufer deliberately injected James Silcox, an 84-year-old man with diabetes and Alzheimer's disease, with insulin the night of August 11, 2007, "hoping he would die," the prosecution said. "It was his time to go because of the way he acted," the former nurse told police, according to the agreed statement of facts. She also told investigators that afterwards, she felt, "like a pressure had been relieved from me, like pressure had been relieved from my emotions. Wettlaufer told police that dissatisfaction with her life led her to inject Clotilde Adriano, 87, with insulin, though Adriano survived. The police investigation into Wettlaufer began last September after Toronto police became aware of information she had given to a psychiatric hospital in Toronto that caused them concern.
Friends and relatives of the seniors who died said earlier on Thursday that they were warned the hearing would reveal information that might be difficult for them to handle. Some, however, expressed relief that the case would come to a swift conclusion.
