Fresno Second-Half State Run Sends Cal Poly to Saturday Defeat

FRESNO – Sophomore guard Donovan Fields scored a career high 17 points, but Fresno State knocked down nine of its first 11 shots to open the second half on Saturday afternoon en route to outdistancing the Mustangs inside the Save Mart Center, 73-59.


Guards Ridge Shipley and Victor Joseph each finished with seven points for Cal Poly (5-5), which trailed 30-23 at halftime before Fresno State (6-3) opened the second half with a 26-13 run. Cal Poly committed just nine turnovers and only three in the second half, but the Bulldogs shot 58.8 (30-for-51) percent from the floor
