Basics of Graphic Design - Part 1: Elements - Materials, Color and Value 3. Textures

Raw materials were not popular a few years ago, but tend to become more and more widely used. (Or competition, if we can call it competition) has replaced the single-color backgrounds. The materials may look like solid-colored backgrounds, but when viewed closely, small but effective differences can be observed.

The patterns of paper, gravel, concrete, bricks, fiber, natural elements, and between dull or soft colors. Ores can also be accurate or prominent, and used moderately or by impregnation; they can work with almost anything. Raw materials can completely alter the shape of the site even if it seems unimportant, providing a completely different visual appearance.

In Jason Julian's business exhibition above, a grunge-style material was used.

Color may be the most important element in design because it gives the strongest visual effect at a glance. Color is clear and does not require basic drawing skills to be observed. While lines and shapes mean the same thing as in fact, except for deeper levels, colors mean the same thing as in nature. Colors create sensations; red is passion, blue is calm, green is nature. Color has a clear effect on our minds even if we do not realize it. 05.thumb.jpg.324c4399f9e46834fb2f2ce6293

Studies have been conducted on this subject, and found that a person who lives in a red environment has a higher heart rate and pulse than a person living in a blue environment. The human brain sees it and affects the rest of the body according to what it sees.

It is therefore important to know color theory, where many designers can not call themselves experts in this field. Being an expert in colors makes the difference between good design and stunning design.

Do not say that you should know everything, but knowing how colors work together like Hue, Saturation, Shadow, Tint, Tone, or Chroma is essential for a graphic designer.

We talk about Value in the previous point, although it is closely related to the color element, because the value is more general and it determines that the design is dark or light. The value also has an effect on mood as well, but only at deeper levels. Understanding color properties takes you to levels close to perfection, but knowing the work and impact of value takes you to even higher levels. The light designs give a different impression and feel to the dark designs, so you need an expert eye to observe the difference and choose the best accordingly.
