Claudio Ranieri has encouraged Premier League referees to be vigilant to fouls on Jamie Vardy this season in the belief the England striker will be a marked man after his exploits in Leicester's title-winning campaign.
Vardy scored 24 top-flight goals for the champions and furthered his reputation for gaining penalties, winning seven for Leicester — by far the most of any player.
Ranieri believes defenders will look to use any means necessary to stop the 29-year-old, who scored in the Community Shield at Wembley, and wants officials to protect his player.

Vardy scored the equaliser against Manchester United and looked dangerous throughout

Ranieri says it is 'difficult to stop' Vardy but defenders will try anything to limit him
