How to choose the right jeans for you
Jeans are an all-time wardrobe staple. It's casual, comfortable and flawlessly incorporated into countless outfits. However, jeans can often be one of the most difficult pieces of clothing to buy. Finding the most comfortable jeans that perfectly fit your unique body shape and allow you to feel confident can be a hard and daunting feat.
High-waisted skinny jeans may be the biggest trend of the day when it comes to jeans, but that doesn't necessarily mean that these are the jeans you should buy. Just because one of the jeans styles trend right now doesn't mean it will flatter your body.
Some women look great in trendy jeans, while others don't. Don't rely on the current passing fashion trend to decide what kind of jeans you should buy. Instead, ignore the trends and choose jeans that look good on you, not the jeans you see in models in magazines.
Jeans are made of denim, and denim is a very stretchy fabric. When you first try on jeans at the store, you may feel tight and uncomfortable, which may naturally tempt you to buy a size larger.
However, sizing up when a new pair of jeans feels uncomfortably tight in the fitting room isn't always the best option. Once you get your jeans on and wear them all day, they will stretch and become unattractively baggy. Choose a pair of skinny jeans and trust that they will stretch to fit your skin.
There is a simple trick to finding jeans with a belt that fits perfectly and won't bother you by being too baggy or too tight after purchasing the jeans.
You should not be able to move your whole hand through the back of the waistband of the jeans. If you can, this means that the waistband is too loose and can appear loose or make your waist appear wider. However, you should be able to fit one or two fingers below the back of the waistband without suffering. If you can't, the waistband is too tight and likely to be uncomfortable and compress your waist and stomach in an unattractive way.
