Man Built plastic Island | He Used To Build It Will Blow Your Mind

Really wealthy people are often buying their own private islands to vacation at. Richard did something completely different.



He is an eco architect, and built his own island that is completely made out of plastic. In Mexico he built this island. He gives a tour of his property, and it is all biodegradable and eco friendly.



His island in the waters of Isla Mujeres near Cancun has opened for tours since 2008. It is 82 feet and there are plants and mangroves growing on it.



There are about 100,000 plastic bottles on this island, and the new island has three beaches, a house and two ponds.



There is also a solar powered waterfall and river, a wave powered washing machine and solar panels. He had volunteers help him with it.



He is always making improvements to the property. He has a biodegradable toilet, and he says eventually he will make air conditioner from the waves in the ocean.



He shows that he already started to make it with the plastic bottles, and shows his shower as well. He says if you take aluminum cans and poke holes in them you are already making an electric charge. He knows how to power things without the use of electricity. He says when you have your own island, you create your own microclimate.
